Invasive species control

SALIX provides targeted invasive plant management grounded in expert botanical identification and site-specific conservation goals. Effective control begins with accurate species recognition, assessment of infestation extent, and evaluation of surrounding native plant communities.

Management strategies are designed to maximize ecological benefit while minimizing unnecessary disturbance. Treatment approaches may include selective herbicide application, mechanical removal, cut-stump treatment, basal bark application, or manual extraction, depending on species, season, and site conditions. Particular care is taken to protect high-quality native vegetation and sensitive habitats during treatment.

SALIX manages invasive plant species including Amur honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii), autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata), garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata), lesser celandine (Ficaria verna), multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora), and wintercreeper (Euonymus fortunei). Additional species can be addressed based on site needs.
Projects may include initial control, follow-up monitoring, and long-term management planning to ensure sustained conservation outcomes.
